A leading European data centre delivery specialist is seeking an experienced Senior Authorised Person (SAP) to support the safe energisation, commissioning, and handover of major hyperscale data centre projects in Finland.
This organisation delivers full turnkey data centre projects across Europe, working with global technology clients on some of the most technically complex, high-value mission-critical developments currently in construction. With over 400MW of live projects across multiple countries, this role offers long-term stability, exposure to flagship campuses, and clear progression into senior electrical leadership.
As Senior Authorised Person, you will play a critical leadership role in electrical safety, HV/LV operations, and energisation strategy, working closely with the Lead Appointed Person, Construction Management, and Commissioning teams.
You will be responsible for implementing and controlling Electrical Safe Systems of Work (ESSoW), managing permits for energised activities, and ensuring all switching, testing, and commissioning is carried out safely, compliantly, and in line with project procedures.
This is a hands-on, site-based role on a large hyperscale campus environment.
Key Responsibilities
Engage early with the Site Management and Commissioning teams under the direction of the Lead Appointed Person
Implement, manage, and enforce the project Electrical Safe Systems of Work (ESSoW)
Issue, control, and close Permits to Work for all energised and HV/LV activities
Ensure all personnel on site understand and comply with HV safety rules and operational procedures
Review and interpret project specifications, drawings, and electrical schematics
Lead and verify lock-out / tag-out (LOTO) procedures and electrical isolation strategies
Review switchgear distribution topology, interlocking, protection settings, and control philosophy prior to energisation
Interpret electrical protection under fault conditions and support fault-finding where required
Liaise with specialist Testing & Commissioning contractors to agree test scripts, sequences, and energisation plans
Coordinate with SCADA / BMS / EMS providers to manage system handover under permit control
Support phased energisation, system handover, and final client acceptance
Maintain full compliance with EHS, quality, and operational management systems
Skills & Qualifications
Relevant third-level qualification in Electrical Engineering / Building Services, or a recognised Electrical Trade with advanced HV training
Senior Authorised Person (SAP) experience essential
S4 Authorisation required
Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a similar role within electrical contracting or mission-critical environments
Strong experience working on MV/HV systems in data centres, pharmaceutical, industrial, or large commercial projects
